Description: Developing policy to guide our practice in a behavioral intervention team can oftentimes seem like a cumbersome process. Alternatively, you may have a policy that seems “good enough” without the resources or support to make changes. In this Talking BITs Session, Dr. S. Nicole Ferguson will walk participants through an understanding of policy capacity to determine where to begin and if current policies are maximizing their potential, the stakeholders needed for strong policy development, an ideal/model policy using the key elements necessary based on NABITA Standards, and some of the pitfalls or failures of improper policy development related to BITs.
