Rodney Wilkerson is the Senior Associate Director for CARE & Support at Liberty University and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Virginia. After earning his undergraduate degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice, Rodney spent nearly a decade working with the Department of Juvenile Justice. He then dedicated the following 15 years to providing care and overseeing community and school-based mental health programs, including directing a therapeutic day treatment program that served over 30 schools across Virginia. After obtaining his master’s in professional counseling and completing residency for licensure, Rodney began practicing part-time as an outpatient therapist in 2018. Rodney enjoys assisting others with navigating relational complexities and marital conflict.
For the past three years, he has been part of Liberty University, first in student conduct and for the last two years in CARE & Support. He leads a team of support coordinators and is the case manager for the University’s threat assessment/threat management team. Outside of work, Rodney enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and three children, gardening, serial killer documentaries, and working on their family farm.
