Jose L. Carval (he/el) is a prevention strategist, educator, and consultant with over a decade of experience advancing equity-focused solutions to gender-based violence. Known for his culturally responsive approach, he has led prevention, training, and capacity-building initiatives across higher education, nonprofit, and community-based settings. Currently, he consults independently through his LLC, supporting organizations in building trauma-informed, inclusive violence prevention and response efforts. When he’s not working, you’ll likely find him outdoors with his husband and two dogs, rooting for the New York Yankees, or catching up on the latest reality shows. This is his first time presenting at ATIXA’s Annual Conference.
