Student Conduct Program Assessment

When was the last time you assessed the structure, policies, and outcomes of your student conduct process? It is important to evaluate your Student Conduct Program, regardless of whether it has a strong history or needs improvement, to identify areas of success, potential problems, or areas of exposure. No program is perfect, and an independent assessment can help even the best program to improve, identify gaps, and enhance risk management. TNG’s experts have decades of experience in the field and can help you to find and address any concerns.

TNG’s Student Conduct Program Assessment is done in three phases:

  • Review of written materials
  • Interviews with campus constituents and stakeholders
  • Recommendations
  • Option: exit surveys

To thoroughly review written materials, we will select a representative sample consisting of prior cases and web-based materials. We will also review template communications, checklists, training materials, relevant job descriptions, and communications for a random selection of cases. Additionally, we may identify other necessary documents for review.

Interviews will be conducted with various campus constituents and stakeholders as the second step of the process. These interviews will involve members of the student conduct team, students, and other vital stakeholders. The purpose of these interviews is to gain a better understanding of the campus culture, as well as the current practices for reporting, investigating, and resolving student conduct issues. Part of our approach is to identify areas of disparity between procedures and practices and make recommendations for changes to align procedures to practices and practices to procedures. Additionally, the organizational structure of the Student Conduct Office will be reviewed to ensure that it is aligned with the needs of the institution.

Recommendations will be presented to the institution in an agreed-upon format, such as a report, presentation, verbal discussion, or summary letter containing TNG’s observations and recommendations.
