Devin serves as Assistant Dean of Students within the Dean of Students Office at the University of Michigan. As Assistant Dean of Students, Devin is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Critical Incident Response & Student Support team, the Respondent Support program, and Community Concerns Response program. Devin directly supervises 3 professional staff members and provides functional supervision to many more.
In addition to oversight of various program areas, Devin provides direct support services to students experiencing complex incidents and crises impacting their campus life; participates in training of various constituents about DOS support services and crisis response; assists in development of reports and data analysis; oversees evaluation and assessment efforts related to student support services/critical incidents; utilizes relevant theory and best practices related to college student development and crisis response/management; maintains and contributes to the functions of the Dean of Students Office through support of its administrative, student support, and crisis management functions.
Devin graduated from Hope College with a degree in Psychology and in Secondary Education with a Social Studies Composite focus. After Hope, he earned a Master’s Degree in Higher Education from the University of Michigan while working as a graduate assistant in the Office of Greek Life. Devin earned his PhD in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University in 2019. His research focused on the relationship between fraternities and sororities and the University of Michigan from an organizational perspective.
