Larissa S.L. Train is the District Director of Academic & Student Affairs Compliance for the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD), a 10-college system and one of the largest community college districts in the United States. She established and leads MCCCD’s districtwide Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) alignment initiative, partnering with campus and district leaders to build consistent, sustainable BIT practice across colleges.
Larissa brings 25 years of experience spanning higher education administration, program leadership, teaching, and social services, with extensive work in student affairs and compliance. As a campus Dean of Students, she served for many years as a Behavioral Intervention Team chair, translating frontline practice into system-level policy, procedures, training, and implementation supports.
She holds a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology from DePauw University, an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University, and an M.A. in Sociology from Arizona State University. Larissa is an active member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) Desert Southwest Chapter, and a Master Trainer in Threat Assessment with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s National Threat Evaluation and Reporting (NTER) program.
