We are pleased to welcome Tara Shollenberger, Ed.D., and Jairad Hydrick, M.S.Ed., as the newest members of NABITA’s Advisory Board. Their combined experience and leadership in threat assessment, behavioral intervention, case management, and student affairs will strengthen our work advancing safety, prevention, and care in educational settings.
Meet Our New Advisory Board Members

Tara Shollenberger, Ed.D.
Assistant Professor of Leadership Studies, High Point University
With over a decade of experience in student affairs and threat assessment, Dr. Shollenberger previously served as Assistant Vice President for Student Life at High Point University, where she chaired the University Threat Assessment Team and oversaw areas of student conduct, fraternity and sorority life, and Title IX.
Currently, as the Assistant Professor of Leadership Studies at High Point University, Dr. Shollenberger works with doctoral students and teaches courses within the field of higher education. As an active researcher and practitioner, Dr. Shollenberger has published on campus safety, threat assessment, and student mental health. Her recent work examines the impact of firearms policies on college campuses and suicide prevention strategies. She is co-author of “Higher Education Law: A Practitioner’s Guide” and recipient of NABITA research grants.
Dr. Shollenberger has experience as a speaker and higher education consultant, while also presenting regularly at NABITA, ASCA, and NASPA conferences. She continues to advance the field through research, education, and mentorship.

Jairad Hydrick, M.S.Ed.
Assistant Dean of Students and Director of the Office of Advocacy and Success at Clemson University
Jairad Hydrick (he/him) serves as the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of the Office of Advocacy and Success at Clemson University. He leads the university’s non-clinical case management program (CARE Network), directly supervising four full-time and two graduate assistant case managers, and providing indirect supervision to four additional staff serving in collateral case management roles. Jairad is also a core member of Clemson’s Behavioral Intervention and Threat Assessment Teams. He brings six years of experience in student affairs, spanning student involvement, student organizations, housing and residence life, student conduct, and non-clinical case management at both public and private institutions. An active member of NABITA, Jairad has also presented sessions and facilitated roundtables at the 2023 Case Management Summit and Annual Conferences in 2023 and 2024.
