Definitions
For purposes of these Terms and Conditions:
- “Referring Member” means the eligible member who submits a referral under this program.
- “Referral Candidate” means the individual or organization being referred.
- “Converted Referral” means a referral that satisfies all criteria outlined in the section “Definition of a Converted Referral.”
- “Discount Code” means the reward issued to a Referring Member under this program.
- “Member in Good Standing” means a member or member organization that has fully paid dues, has no invoices more than 90 days past due, and is not in violation of member policies.
- “Eligible Products” means those NABITA/ATIXA programs and services for which discount codes may be used, as determined by the association and subject to change.
Eligibility
- The referral program is open only to current members in good standing at the time the referral is submitted and remain in good standing at the time any reward is issued. A member is considered to be in good standing if they or their organization:
- have fully paid their membership dues for their current membership year;
- do not have any open invoices or TNG Solutions invoices more than 90 days past due;
- are not in violation of any member policies.
- Staff, contractors, or affiliates of the association (and their immediate family), are not eligible to earn rewards.
- To be eligible to be referred, a referral candidate is eligible only if they have never held a membership or their most recent membership expired at least two calendar years prior to the invoice date of the new membership.
- Self-referral using one’s own or one’s own organization’s code is prohibited and will result in automatic disqualification of the referral.
- Referral Limits
- Participants are not limited on the number of referrals per membership year (regardless of membership type).
- Only one referring member may be credited for a new member.[MB1]
- Memberships obtained through the Referral Rewards program are non-transferable.
- Individual members may refer their own organization for membership. Organizations referred in this way forfeit eligibility to have the unused balance of the referring individual membership credited toward the organizational membership.
- Definition of a Converted Referral
- A referral is considered “converted” once the new member:
- applies the referrer’s information at the time of sign-up;
- completes the membership payment process in full;
- remains an active member until payment clears.

Rewards for Referring Members
- For each successful referral, referrers may earn:
- $50 discount code for each successful new Individual Member referral.
- $100 discount code for each successful new Institutional/Team Member referral.
- $150 discount code for each successful new Super Member/K-12 Professional Development Package Holder referral.
- Rewards are distributed as discount codes, issued quarterly.
- Discount codes expire one (1) year from the disbursement date.
- Discount codes are non-refundable and have no cash value.
- Discount codes can only be used toward eligible NABITA/ATIXA products, memberships, eTrainings, virtual trainings, and in-person training registration fees and can only be redeemed with their originating association. NABITA/ATIXA reserves the right to change product eligibility at any time, without notice.
- Discount codes must be applied at the time of purchase and cannot be applied to previously issued invoices or completed transactions.
- Discount codes may be transferred only with the explicit authorization of the Referring Member. Upon request, the association may apply a discount code to another user’s invoice at the direction of the Referring Member.
- Only the individual referring the member may authorize the transfer of a discount code to another user. Individuals may reach out to members@nabita.org to request to apply the discount code to a sub-user’s open invoice.
Rewards for New Members
- Newly referred members are eligible to receive a 5% discount on their first-year’s membership invoice only, regardless of membership type.
- Newly referred members must reach out to members@nabita.org to receive the 5% discount before payment is made.
- Discount is applied only if the referral is declared at sign-up via the member’s unique referral code and cannot be applied retroactively.
- The distribution of referral rewards renders memberships ineligible for refunds or credits. Memberships are non-transferable.
Distribution Process
- NABITA/ATIXA staff will distribute discount codes quarterly.
- Discount codes will be sent by email.
- Errors or disputes regarding issued discount codes must be reported within 30 days of disbursement.
Usage of Discount Codes
- Discount codes must be entered at checkout to apply credit.
- Only one discount code may be applied per transaction.
- Discount codes expire 365 days from the date of issuance. Any unused balance remaining after expiration is automatically forfeited and will not be reinstated.
- The system will only allow one (1) discount code per order. Members may reach out to members@nabita.org to apply more than one per order.
- If the discount code amount exceeds the order amount, the amount remaining on the discount code will be forfeited. NABITA/ATIXA may, at its sole discretion, allow discount code to be split between multiple orders. Members may reach out to members@nabita.org to request such a split.
- Discount codes have no resale value and may not be exchanged for cash, credit, or other products. Any attempt to exchange them or otherwise circumvent this policy is grounds for disciplinary action up to and including disqualification.
Disqualification & Fraud
- The association reserves the right to disqualify referrals at its sole discretion in cases including, but not limited to, fraud, misuse, or abuse.
- Prohibited behaviors include:
- Creating fake accounts.
- Bulk emailing or spamming referral solicitations.
- Misrepresenting the program terms.
- Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to generate referrals.
- Registering domains, social media handles, or paid ads that impersonate NABITA/ATIXA.
- Posting referral codes on coupon or deal-aggregation websites.
- Members found to have abused, manipulated, or violated the referral program terms may, at the association’s sole discretion, have discount codes revoked, Converted Referrals invalidated, and membership suspended or terminated.
Program Administration
- Referral tracking is based solely on association records; any appeals must be submitted to the association within 30 days of occurrence; the association’s decision is final.
Program Changes
- The association reserves the right to, at its sole discretion:
- Modify, suspend, or terminate the referral program at any time, including changes affecting reward values, eligibility, or issuance timelines.
- Change the reward structure or value of discount codes with or without notice.
- Resolve disputes and interpret these Terms & Conditions.
- Change these terms and conditions without notice.
Limitation of Liability
- The association is not responsible for:
- Lost, stolen, misused, or expired discount codes.
- Errors due to incorrect referral information provided by members.
- Technical issues preventing referral tracking.
Acceptance of Terms
- By submitting or responding to a referral, members acknowledge and agree to these Terms and Conditions, including any updates or modifications.
Members are responsible for reviewing updates, which will be posted on the association’s website or sent via official communications with or without prior notice.
