Kristine McCaslin

Kristine McCaslin is the Director of Student Rights and Responsibilities at the University of Denver. Prior to joining the outstanding team at DU, Kristine worked for the Universities of Wisconsin System’s (former) two-year freshman/sophomore institutions, affectionately known as “the Colleges”. Kristine held multiple positions during her time with the Colleges at institutional, regional, and central office levels.

Within her various roles, Kristine had been responsible for supervision of institutional budget management and project, enrollment management, human resource management, facilities operations, information technology, financial aid, bursar, registrar, housing and residence life, dining and catering services, events planning, parking services, bookstore operations, vending services, student ambassador, recruitment, student leadership, academic advising, disability services, conduct, Title IX and Equal Opportunity operations, and other areas. In her final role with the Colleges, Kristine was responsible for Conduct and Compliance for 13 physical campuses, 2 online campuses, and supported University Extension program compliance.

During her final role with the Colleges, Kristine supervised operations centering on student rights and responsibilities, Clery compliance (serving as the Compliance Officer), CARE team initiatives, residence life, prevention initiatives, DFSCA compliance, State compliance requirements such as Executive Order 54, Title IX & Equal Opportunity, served as the safety chief, and other areas.

At the University of Denver, Kristine is responsible for the student conduct process, Chairs the Outcome Council (assigns outcomes/sanctions to Students found responsible for violating Civil Rights & Equal Opportunity policies, including Title IX. Kristine serves as a Core Team member of the CARE/BIT team at DU, and is a member of the Campus Safety Advisory Committee.

Kristine holds a M.A. in Student Affairs Administration from Ball State University and a B.S. in Psychology and Spanish with a minor in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Kristine is a doctoral student in the Higher Education program at the Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver and is currently writing her dissertation.
