Emily Merolli is a founding partner at Sligo Law Group, PLLC, with nearly two decades of federal and private-sector experience in legislative and regulatory law. Before founding the firm, Emily served in the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of General Counsel, where she advised senior leadership across Democratic and Republican administrations on complex statutory, regulatory, and policy questions. Her practice includes student privacy, civil rights, disability, school-based mental health, federal grants, and administrative law. She brings particular experience assessing agency authority and helping education organizations navigate overlapping federal requirements.
