Tara Shollenberger, Ed.D.

Tara Shollenberger, Ed.D., is an Assistant Professor of Educational Studies at High Point University and Executive Director of the North Carolina Professors of Educational Leadership. She teaches doctoral courses in leadership theory, higher education law, governance, and policy. She is the co-author of Higher Education Law: A Practitioner’s Guide (Kendall Hunt, 2024) as well as numerous other peer reviewed journals and conference presentations. Her published research addresses legal liability and duty of care for student mental health, threat assessment on college campuses, and women in leadership. She serves on the NABITA Advisory Board and has been faculty for the ASCA Donald D. Gehring Academy in 2022 -2024.

Before joining the faculty, Dr. Shollenberger spent more than a decade in student affairs administration at High Point University, most recently as Assistant Vice President for Student Life, where she oversaw conduct, fraternity and sorority life, Title IX and chaired the University Threat Assessment Team.
