NABITA Model Policy on Voluntary and University-Initiated Leaves of Absence and Withdrawals

This model policy and procedures supports and facilitates a safe and healthy learning environment and promotes the well-being of the institutional community. This policy outlines a process for student-initiated voluntary leaves of absence as well as university-initiated leaves of absence. Both a student-initiated and a university-initiated leave of absence allow a student to take time away from the university environment to address the behaviors or tend to the circumstances that necessitated the leave so that the student can return to the university and resume their studies.
