Adenike ‘ Nikki” Heyliger, MLS, MS.

Adenike “Nikki” Heyliger serves as the Clery Compliance and Resource Support Coordinator at Winston-Salem State University. In this role, she leads Clery Act compliance efforts, coordinates Campus Security Authority (CSA) training, and collaborates with campus partners to promote campus safety, compliance, and awareness. She also supports cross-functional initiatives focused on student support, resource coordination, and institutional compliance.

Ms. Heyliger earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from West Virginia State University, a Master of Legal Studies from West Virginia University, and a Master of Science in Counseling from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

With more than 20 years of professional experience spanning higher education, compliance, counseling, and victim services, Ms. Heyliger brings expertise in Clery compliance, trauma-informed practices, case management, prevention education, resource coordination, and student support. Her professional experience includes serving in Clery compliance roles at UNC System institutions, working as a school counselor, and working for a nonprofit organization that collaborated with local law enforcement agencies to support individuals impacted by trauma and victimization.

Drawing on her experience in compliance, counseling, and victim services, Ms. Heyliger is passionate about using data to move beyond regulatory reporting and support informed decision-making, prevention efforts, intervention strategies, and student success. She is committed to fostering safe, equitable, and supportive campus communities through collaboration, education, and the strategic use of data to enhance campus safety and student well-being.
