Andrew Bowers, B.S.

Andrew serves as a Title IX Coordinator and Student Civil Rights Officer at Western Governors University (WGU), where his work includes assessing and responding to reports involving Title IX and other civil rights matters, coordinating supportive measures and institutional responses, conducting investigations, and collaborating with departments across the university to address complex student concerns. His experience in Student Affairs and Student Conduct has provided extensive exposure to behavioral concerns, risk assessment, policy application, investigative interviewing, documentation, case management, conflict resolution, and multidisciplinary collaboration. His work regularly requires coordination with institutional partners including Student Conduct, academic personnel, student support services, disability and accessibility resources, legal and compliance partners, and other university stakeholders. Prior to his work in higher education, Andrew spent nine years in law enforcement, including experience as an instructor and as a member of a gang and drug task force. This background provided additional experience in investigations, interviewing, evidence assessment, crisis response, de-escalation, threat and behavioral assessment, and working collaboratively across federal, state and local disciplines.
