Jonathan L. Rosnick

Jonathan Rosnick serves as Associate Vice President for Public Safety and Chief of Police at Franklin & Marshall College, where he leads the College’s PLEAC Premier-accredited police department and works extensively in behavioral intervention, threat assessment, violence prevention, and multidisciplinary case management. He is a member of the National Association for Behavioral Intervention and Threat Assessment (NABITA) and is certified in the Structured Interview for Violence Risk Assessment (SIVRA-35) and NABITA Risk Rubric.

Rosnick brings more than two decades of law enforcement and public safety experience to this work, including significant experience as a Major Crimes Detective with the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., where he investigated sexual offenses, child abuse, and other complex crimes. His specialized interviewing background includes training as a National Children’s Advocacy Center (NCAC) Forensic Interviewer, as well as advanced training and experience in cognitive interviewing and investigative interview and interrogation techniques. He has conducted complex interviews involving victims, witnesses, suspects, and individuals experiencing crisis or behavioral concerns.

In addition to his operational leadership, Rosnick is an instructor with Penn State University’s Justice and Safety Institute, where he teaches on topics including leadership, management, procedural justice, organizational culture, and contemporary policing. His current professional and scholarly interests examine how procedural justice, organizational legitimacy, and evidence-informed interviewing and assessment practices can strengthen behavioral intervention, threat assessment, and violence prevention.
