20 Minutes to…Trained: Return from Hospitalization

This 20-Minutes to… Trained examines best practices for supporting a student returning to their school or institution from a short- or long-term hospitalization. Expert NABITA faculty members Makenzie Schiemann, M.S., Ph.D., and Saundra K. Schuster, M.S., J.D.,  discuss common questions practitioners on BITs often ask to ensure they provide fair and equitable student support. The rights of students under Section 504, ADA, and the student code of conduct are explored, as well as the idea of behavioral agreements or contracts. This is a great training opportunity for all BIT members and case managers in K-12 and higher education settings.
